Apprenticeships are a great alternative to traditional learning, giving you the opportunity to earn while you learn, as you work alongside experienced staff members at your place of work and gain nationally recognised qualifications as you go.
Additional training is provided via day release to Wiltshire College, giving you off the job training and assessments to ensure you are on track. Assessments can vary depending on your chosen apprenticeship, but most are done either in the workplace, online or at a Wiltshire College campus.
What do I need to do next?
Do you know what apprenticeship you might be interested in? Click on the Apply for an apprenticeship button to see our full range of apprenticeship courses.
If you already have an employer, and they have agreed to putting you through an apprenticeship with them, complete the relevant college apprenticeship application form (you can access this by clicking on the Apply for an apprenticeship button) with your employer’s details, and the apprenticeship team will be in touch with your employer to explain the apprenticeship programme in detail and ensure that the job opportunity is suitable for an apprenticeship.
If you don’t have an employer, apply online for the apprenticeship you are interested in, and we will be in contact to give you advice and guidance on how to go about finding an employer.
Once we have received your completed apprenticeship application form, you will be invited to attend an informal interview at the college - this will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the apprenticeship programme.
You may also be asked to complete an initial English and maths assessment to determine what level you are currently at as you are required to hold a GCSE, grades A* to C (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or a Merit or Distinction in a related subject at Level 2.Are you ready to become an apprentice with Wiltshire College?
