For some apprenticeships Information & Communication Technology (ICT) is also relevant. |

Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

| As part of your Apprenticeship, you will develop your personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS) as part of the PLTS framework which will provide you with the qualities and skills needed for success in learning and life. The PLTS framework comprises of six groups of skills which are all interconnected: creative thinking, independent enquiry, reflective learning, team work, self-management and effective participation. |

Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

| You will learn employer and employee statutory rights and responsibilities under Employment Law and other legislation, including Disability Discrimination Act, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity. We’ll help you identify sources of information and advice in relation to ERR, and give you understanding of its relevance to your occupation and industry. |

Programme Duration

Intermediate Apprenticeship will take a minimum of 12 -18 months. An Advanced Apprenticeship will take up to 48 months.

College Attendance
|
Traditionally an advanced apprenticeship programme would have an element of off-the-job experience, this would relate to the practical performing engineering operations qualification. The learner could expect to attend a Further Education Establishment for at least one day per week for the potential of the whole programme.

Entry Conditions
|
Entry requirements for Avon Vale Training Engineering Manufacturing Programmes are essentially employer led however, a good standard of English, Maths & Science would always be preferred as you will need to build on these disciplines to support your Engineering acumen. Additional needs or support will be addressed at the Initial Assessments.
If minimum conditions are not met, we will consider candidates that demonstrate a clear commitment and aptitude at interview and initial assessment. |
