Travelling by car

The College centres are very busy and are used by people of all ages. Everyone is expected to drive and park safely and with care - a serious view is taken of students who drive without care and put the safety of others at risk.

Free car parking is available at the main campuses but is limited and often full at peak periods at some of the local centres. Parking at some of the local centres is very limited. See the site maps here for locations of car parks.

If travelling by car…

  • Car-share if possible
  • Please ensure that parking spaces reserved for disabled drivers are kept free for people entitled to use them.
  • Keep emergency access points clear by only parking in marked bays. Wheel clamps are used on some College sites.
  • We are unable to take responsibility for any theft or damage that may occur.
  • Please do not park in Willow Grove opposite the Trowbridge campus. This parking is reserved for residents only and cars that are parked illegally are likely to be clamped by the police.
  • Please take particular care when negotiating the narrow Z-bends on the Trowbridge campus .
  • The western car park at Chippenham is reserved for staff until 4.30pm each day. Students should use the eastern car park.
  • Students wishing to take their vehicles on to the Lackham campus must register them with the Senior Warden

Normal road traffic regulations apply at all centres. That means tax, insurance, MOTs and speed limits!

Do not travel by car if you have a reasonable alternative. The College is working with Wiltshire Council to promote cycling and the use of public transport.
