Student Support

Personal Tutor

Every full-time student is allocated a Personal Tutor who has the job of monitoring a student's progress, supporting students with any course related or personal problems and assisting them with their plans for work or Higher Education after the course is completed. Parents are invited to make contact with the tutor if they want to share any concerns.

Customer Services

Each campus has a drop-in Customer Services centre where students can access information and advice and make bookings to see specialist advisers on accommodation, childcare, grant aid, transport and careers.

Careers Advisers

The experienced guidance team includes qualified college staff and Connexions' Personal Advisers. Together they provide one-to-one interviews and group works on career preparation and university entrance, and organise an exciting programme of career related visits and events including an annual careers fair.

Student Finance

Support is available fot those in financial hardship via the Student Bursary scheme. For full details on what is available and how to apply please see the College Handbook or see our .

Student Liaison Officers

Each campus has an SLO who is responsible for organising the Student Association, running the Common Room facilities and organising the range of social and community activities in which students are encouraged to participate in their spare time.

Learning Support

Students coming from school where they have had learning support are encouraged to inform us so that we can continue to support their needs. Students who have not previously had support but feel they need it are encouraged to seek support through the Learning Support Co-ordinator on each campus.

Student Counsellors

Students may wish to talk with one of our Student Counsellors if they have personal issues that are troubling them. The Counsellors have in the past provided invaluable support to many students who might otherwise have dropped out of their course.
