This course is designed for those wanting to work in the criminal justice sector. You will be given the opportunity to explore the purpose and framework of the Criminal Justice System. Each unit of study will be linked with a specific criminal justice agency, providing an understanding of the current issues faced by each. This will aid with the necessary skills and competencies required to work within those organisations, enhancing your employability prospects.
With the support of the Wiltshire Criminal Justice Board, the HND in Criminal Justice will provide opportunities to liaise with current practitioners, providing valuable insight into the sector. There is continual assessment including written reports, seminars, a mock trial and a research project. Students are required to observe criminal trials and undertake work experience within a criminal justice organisation in year two. In addition, you will develop an Employer Profile Portfolio (EPP) throughout the programme.
