This course offers you a higher education qualification and training in the world of business. It provides a specialist business education over a two year period, linked to professional body requirements (for example the Chartered Management Institute) and ensures a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required to progress into employment or continued undergraduate studies. The programme is ideal for learners who wish to gain an undergraduate qualification that prepares them for employment in all the business functional areas including general management, human resources, sales and marketing, international trade, and finance.
The HNC in Business gives you insight into all of the core functional areas of business and organisation management. You will study 8 units, learning about the business environment, organisational behaviour, marketing, finance and human resource management. You will also study business law, management and complete a research project. In addition to this, further options will be specialised in human resources, management, and international aspects.
You will have a timetable covering classes one afternoon and evening a week on the same day which provides the opportunity to maintain existing work or other commitments during the rest of the week. You will be expected to carry out work on assessments and reading outside the timetabled hours using our Higher Education Study area and/or working from home via our eLearning environment.
